Collaboration Agreement Between ENSA and ENUSA for Spent Fuel Management

ENUSA and ENSA (Equipos Nucleares, S.A) have signed a collaboration agreement this week for the provision of services in the area of spent fuel management.

The collaboration agreement signed between the two public enterprises belonging to the SEPI Group will enable both national and international nuclear power plant operators to simultaneously benefit from the experience of both companies. ENSA is the world’s leading nuclear component manufacturer with more than 20 years of experience in the design and manufacture of spent fuel casks, while ENUSA offers more than 40 years of experience in fuel design, manufacturing and handling and also in spent fuel inspection, characterization and processing.

With this collaboration agreement, ENUSA and ENSA will offer an integrated package of services in a market with a growing demand for spent fuel management in Spain, Europe, China and the rest of the world. On the other hand, the two companies will cooperate more closely to comply with the specific demands of operators and the licensing requirements for prolonged storage and transportation.
