Engineering Services

Thanks to the qualifications and professionalism of its human resources Enusa Industrias Avanzadas is able to cover the consulting and engineering needs of the nuclear power plants and adapt to their requirements. These services include the following:

Product engineering: in-plant fuel design and tracking and definition and management of Research and Development, programs, in conjunction with the owner companies of the nuclear power plants.

Core engineering: these operating support services include definition of the refueling scheme, accident analysis and thermohydraulic design. For this purpose, neutron calculations are performed for other companies in the sector.

Quality: controls and certifies the final product quality.

Process engineering: development of equipment and processes for manufacturing of BWR and VVER products.

Fuel Services : coordination of the inspection and repair programs, which are tailored to the refueling programs, and provision of fresh fuel reception and irradiated fuel handling services during the refueling outage.

Commercial and Business Development Department: its main activities include submission of bids and negotiation of nuclear fuel product and service sale contracts, execution of signed contracts, and entry into new markets for development of the fuel activities of Enusa Industrias Avanzadas. The Department is organized around four major market sectors: National PWR, European PWR, BWR, and fuel services.

In addition, Enusa also coordinates the logistics of fuel deliveries to the different European nuclear power plants.
