This Center has undertaken the restoration of old uranium mines (Mines Fe and D), in order to recover the affected natural area and try to return it to its original state, with environmental and radiological conditions as similar as possible to the original situation. It has also dismantled the original uranium concentrate plant (plant Elephant) and radioactive facility top notch.

All the decommissioning is being carried out in accordance with the projects approved by the competent authorities: Consejo de Seguridad Nuclear, ST of Industry, Trade and Tourism (Section Mines) and ST Environment of the Junta de Castilla y León.

It remains to dismantle the treatment plant Quercus, in a position to terminate the operating period of suspension of license, pending a decision definitely tackle it and restart your activity, depending on the expected evolution of prices of uranium concentrate

Dismantled once the closure is completed the Centre, with an initial investment, then, more than 100 million euros, financed by ENUSA and ENRESA. Is expected to be completed, including the period of surveillance and control programs, about 2020.
