Strategic Agreements
The nuclear reactors of the Spanish plants to which Enusa supplies fuel (all of them except the Trillo nuclear power plant) are built with technologies of Westinghouse for the so-called pressurized water reactors (PWR), and of General Electric for boiling water reactors (BWR). Therefore, from the very beginning, Enusa signed technology exchange agreements with these two companies for their applications in both engineering and manufacturing of the fuel assemblies.
The good relations existing between the parties and Enusa’s excellent international reputation have made it possible to reach collaboration agreements with both Westinghouse and General Electric. These partnerships have materialized in the creation of Asociaciones de Interés Económico (A.I.E.) [Economic Interest Alliances] or specific agreements to operate in the European market, and at present half of Enusa’s production is delivered to that market.
