Nuclear reactors
Reactors are installations where:
- Energy originating in the processes that occur at the level of the nuclei of atoms is produced.
- Particles or photons (e.g., gamma rays or X-rays) are produced as part of the process. Those reactors whose main purpose is the production of energy are usually called “nuclear power reactors”. Those whose purpose is to obtain nuclear particles are known as nuclear research reactors. The energy capacity of uranium fission is notable in comparison to other chemical energy sources. Thus with a small production of uranium concentrates, it is possible to supply many nuclear power plants.
