Some of the functionalities implemented in to permit easier access to all the web contents are:

  • The visual characteristics of the portal (letter type, font color and depth, etc.) are defined by the style sheet so that users can adjust the text to their preferences.
  • The font sizes have been defined with relative units so that the font size can be increased or decreased from the browser options.
  • If a user accesses with a browser that does not support style sheet, this will not be a problem since all the contents can also be accessed with the CSS disabled.
  • The pages have a clear structure both for users who can see all the contents, and also for users who read the information with a screen reader and those who disable the style sheet, etc. With this objective, HTML code has been used to define the section headings, the lists and all the elements that are helpful for a general comprehension of the website.
  • The HTML and CSS code that has been used adapts to formal grammars to ensure the correct display of the contents in different browsers.
