The Empresa para la Gestión de Residuos Industriales, S.A., S.M.E., M.P. (EMGRISA) was incorporated in 1990 as an agency of the Ministry with competences in the environmental area to pursue the objectives of the national industrial waste and soil decontamination plans. Since 2003, it belongs to the ENUSA Group.

Since May 11, 2009, EMGRISA has been an agent and technical service of the State’s General Administration and the state’s public sector, in accordance with the provisions of the Public Sector Contracts Act 30/2007.

EMGRISA’s main activities are integral management of Hazardous and Non-Hazardous Wastes and treatment of contaminated soil and water.

EMGRISA owns two hazardous waste treatment and transfer centers: one in Extremadura and another in Castilla-La Mancha. In addition, it holds shares in two companies: REMESA, Waste Management Center of the autonomous city of Melilla, and CETRANSA, Integral Hazardous Industrial Waste Treatment Center in Valladolid.

And since 2014, EMGRISA, with the support of ENUSA’s Technical Environmental Office, undertakes ENUSA’s environmental consulting and engineering works, as well as commercialization of the management services for municipal solid waste and agro-animal and agro-industrial waste treatment.
