Agricultural, Livestock and Agro-industrial Waste

We manage agro-animal and agro-industrial wastes in biogas plants.

In this process, the wastes are put into a closed airtight concrete tank – or digester – which, in the absence of oxygen and through a process of anaerobic digestion, transforms these wastes into biogas. This biogas contains a high percentage of methane gas that gives it a high heat capacity for combustion and transformation into electricity.

Another advantage of this system is that the wastes that are produced – called digestate – can, once their organic pollution load is treated and the pathogens and bad odors are eliminated, be used as fertilizer for agriculture thanks to the high concentration of nutrients, thus avoiding the use of chemical products and at the same time reducing methane emissions to the atmosphere.

With this initiative, we uphold our commitment to the environment, as it helps to combat two of the biggest environmental problems that society confronts today: greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming, and the concern about finding solutions for managing the wastes we produce.

The first biogas plant that we put into operation is located in the town of Juzbado in Salamanca, and it is the first facility of its kind in Castilla-Leon.

The services that we offer in this area are:

  • Initial consulting in the design phase to select the best technology for building customized plants.
  • Project management.
  • Construction supervision and startup of the facility.
  • Maintenance and consulting during operation.
