OUR PILLARS: QUALITY
At ENUSA, we are committed to quality as a strategic factor and core belief in all our activities, adopting a proactive role in the implementation and development of management and continuous improvement systems.
Within our quality systems, we have implemented the criteria of the UNE 73401, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025, 10CFR50 Ap.B, ASME NQA 1 and KTA 1401 standards, as well as the specific guidelines applicable to the nuclear sector. Our Quality Policy is described in ENUSA’s Policies document.
“quality as a strategic factor”
The need to be able to produce very high-quality products means that we have been committed to working with the most modern techniques since the very beginning. We strengthen our process of continuous improvement, based on self-assessment and learning from our own and others’ experience.
At ENUSA, we select and use the best tools to ensure that improvement projects achieve the desired results and achieve them efficiently. These tools include re-engineering, kaizen, lean, statistical techniques, teamwork, creativity techniques, numerical simulation, operations research, Six Sigma, etc.
Since 1997, ENUSA has incorporated the Six Sigma approach into its processes to improve its final products’ quality and reduce costs.
All administrative and productive processes are analysed with this tool so that they are permanently subject to improvement programmes.
Today, part of our efforts are focused on optimising fuel use. The margins at which power plants operate have decreased due to the increasing need to extend the lifetime of its fuel. ENUSA has contributed to making Spanish nuclear power plants more competitive by making the cost of fuel per kWh produced one of the lowest in the world.
