Last week, ENUSA received a delegation from the company at its facilities <em>Nuclear Industries of Brazil<\/em> (INB).<\/p>\n<p>Last Tuesday, the president of the ENUSA Group welcomed the members of the delegation, led by its president, Carlos Freire. The initial opening meeting took place at the company's headquarters in Madrid and the lines of collaboration and points of convergence of both companies were addressed with the aim of advancing a new collaboration framework between two companies.<\/p>\n<p>This new framework covers four fundamental axes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaboration in the field of the Uranium concentrates market, especially at a time when the market is tense due to the Ukrainian crisis.<\/li>\n<li>The development of passive solutions for environmental treatments for soil remediation and experimental environmental treatments such as those developed in the Saelices El Chico mine, and which could be applied in the environmental restoration in which INB works in Po\u00e7os de Caldas (Minas G\u00e9rais) .<\/li>\n<li>The application of characterization and treatment techniques for contaminated surfaces through the use of drones.<\/li>\n<li>The application of technologies and equipment for automation of nuclear fuel handling and inspection processes in the INB fuel manufacturing line in Resende (Rio de Janeiro).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The INB delegation visited the ENUSA facilities in Juzbado and Saelices. In Juzbado they visited the fuel element factory where aspects related to process automation, inspection, advances and updates in the equipment developed by ENUSA were addressed.<\/p>\n<p>The INB delegation visited the company's facilities in Saelices, where they visited the implementation grounds of the Tekura Project, including the Tecnosoles preparation plant and were able to see first-hand the effectiveness of the environmental treatments developed at the facility, more specifically in the reduction of acid drainage to be treated. The next step to be followed by ENUSA was also addressed, the MINETRA Project, which was of interest to INB, which sees in these projects and the techniques they use possibilities of application in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Mariano Moreno, president of the ENUSA Group, stated: <em>\u00abINB has come a long way to position itself as a benchmark in the nuclear industry and has been able to position Brazil as one of the four countries, along with the United States, China and Russia, with uranium reserves and technology for enrichment. It shares with ENUSA the search for constant improvement, the quality of the processes and safety above all. \u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<p>For his part, Carlos Freire, president of INB: <em>\u00abIf the uranium market were made more flexible, Brazil could become a uranium supplier for Spain. On the other hand, ENUSA's experience is recognized and for us it can be very useful for the restoration of the Po\u00e7os de Caldas mine.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n<h3>About Ind\u00fastrias Nucleares do BrasilAbout Ind\u00fastrias Nucleares do Brasil<\/h3>\n<p>Founded in 1988, Ind\u00fastrias Nucleares do Brasil focuses its business on uranium. They operate in the mineral production chain and in the nuclear fuel cycle, which includes extraction, processing, enrichment, manufacturing of powder and pellets, and the fuel that supplies Brazilian nuclear power plants.<\/p>\n<p>It is a public company linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy that, on behalf of the Federal Government, exercises a monopoly on the production and sale of nuclear materials. Likewise, they offer fuel engineering services and the production of fuel element components.<\/p>\n<p>INB's activities are authorized and inspected by the National Nuclear Energy Commission (CNEN) and by the Brazilian Institute of Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (IBAMA).
